Scholarships are important resources for college students who sometimes struggle to make ends meet. College students rely on financial aid that helps them to pursue their education without any hindrance. There are several scholarship programs open to undergraduates and post graduates at NIST.
Each scholarship makes up its own rules which take into consideration academic performance, attendance, extracurricular activities. The scholarship is aimed at certain groups within the student body. Each one of the scholarships is given under different categories related to their performance in different fields.
These scholarships promote excellence within certain fields to bring out the very best among the students.
This scholarship is provided to the sibling of a student. The amount offered is Rs 10,000 per student, one-time only.
This scholarship is considered for all the students of B. Tech, M. Tech, MBA and MCA who has secured greater than 9.0 CGPA without any back papers (valid for one academic year). Additional criteria may be considered during the selection process. The amount of scholarship is Rs. 3000/- per semester.
Financial aid extended to children of NIST employees based on academic performance and need. Details available through NIST administration.
Each year, it is the tradition of NIST to reward the toppers (of the final year), for exemplary academic performances. It is applicable to the toppers of B. Tech, MBA, MCA, M. Tech, M.Sc. and B.Sc. program.
Each year few meritorious students are selected as Teaching Assistants to assist the faculty members in their academic work different subjects. Students receive a scholarship of Rs.1000/- per month for this work. Students from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year are eligible for TA ship in the department where 80% seats are filled. One student shall assist evaluation for max of 50 students.
Students who will work on the funded industry collaboration project shall be awarded with an honorarium based on the agreement with the concerned organization/client/industry.
Through the Research Assistantship program UG and PG students get involved with faculty members to carry out joint research work. For this each student gets a stipend of Rs.2000/- per month for 2 months.
Ph.D. scholarships/stipends are awarded to the meritorious candidates admitted to NIST. Under this programme, candidates are offered a monthly scholarship of Rs 15,000.
