Blood Donation Camp at NIST

A pint of donated blood can save up to three lives. National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur, Odisha understands that donating blood is not only important for the patient but it sometimes works as life saver drug for the patient. Human Blood can’t be replaced by artificial blood. Healthy human body is 24X7 blood manufacturing unit and it is the easiest way to show our care and willingness to help others especially for the children who are suffering from thallasemia, patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment and patients admitted in various hospitals around the town.NIST believes to create awareness among blood donors and always inclined to share Do’s and Don’ts of blood donation camp. 

A Blood Donation Camp was organized in the premises of National Institute of Science and Technology, Berhampur on November 28, 2015 (Saturday). The event was a joint venture of NIST ISTE Students Chapter, NSS Unit I NIST and Blood Bank, MKCG College and Hospital, Berhampur in collaboration with HDFC Bank. The camp was inaugurated by the Director of the institute, Prof. Sangram Mudali. Students and faculty members of the institution donated blood in large numbers for this noble initiative. At the end of the day the institute recorded a triumphant 201 units of donated blood.
