Lecture Hall Complex

LECTURE HALL COMPLEX (LHC)

LECTURE Hall Complex (LHC) is a five-floored building of over 60,000 sq.ft. Furnished with all modern amenities, it houses a lot of our classrooms and our electronics, machines and computer science laboratories. It also houses the server room and the administrative section.

GALLERIA

GALLERIA is a four-storied architectural marvel of over 100,000 sq.ft. It is one of our new additions. Galleria is one of its kind with 12 lecture halls and a 250-seat auditorium. The prestigious High-performance computing lab and the IBM Centre for Excellence are housed in this building. The NIST Technology Consultancy Services (NTCS) - the one-stop-shop for all our technology related issues - occupies a pride of place in the building.

OCTAGON

OCTAGON is a multi-storeyed, multipurpose masterpiece. The structure echoes our strife to meet corporate standards in every little thing we do. Octagon houses a modern Computer Center, an Internet Room, a computerized Library, 2 faculty rooms, 5 classrooms, and a Cafeteria that can seat over 150 people at a time.

ATRIUM

ATRIUM is the latest addition to our building infrastructure. This building houses the maximum number of classrooms in the campus amounting to 25, 11 laboratories including the Chemistry, Physics, Engineering drawing, C-lab, Language lab, etc., and 13 faculty rooms. The Student Activities Center is also located here. The NIST Business School with its own well-equipped library is also nestled in this sprawling building is a reflection of our tastes and ideas in embracing ultramodern architecture and latest technologies in our own classrooms and laboratories to impart quality education.

TIFAC

TIFAC The National Institute of Science and technology has been selected on 22 December, 2009, by TIFAC to set up a Centre of Excellence in 3G/4G Communication Technologies, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. TIFAC CORE building, therefore, is the most prestigious feather in our cap. With specialized laboratories equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, the building is home to labs like VLSI, Antenna Fabrication, Device Fabrication, Embedded Systems, Nano-technology, Optical communication, and NI Lab View. Apart from these, the building also has 2 seminar halls, 4 classrooms, a conference room, a JRF room and a trainers' room.

The CORE BUILDING is the center of research and excellence.This new five-story building has state of the art Research labs and the best equipment. Each room has data and power ports and most of the labs are outfitted with individual workstations.

The Global Innovation Center at NIST is a hub for creativity, entrepreneurship, and cutting-edge research. 5G AND FUTURE COMMUNICATION

The NIST University's 5G and Future Communication Global Innovation Centre (GIC) aims to foster technological research and innovation in the areas of 5G/6G and future communication with global collaboration leading to productization and deployment in actual field in solving customer business issue and challenges. The key is applied research and solutions to customer problems in the communication domain using advanced and future-proof technology.

As we navigate an era defined by rapid technological changes and complex global challenges, the NIST University's "5G and Future Communication GIC" is dedicated to multiple dimensions of innovation like Private Wireless Network (PWN) using 5G/6G, Softwarisation of Networks leveraging Open Sources, Open Radio Access Networks (ORAN), Networking software and systems architecture, Network of networks, Cyber security for Communication and associate Future Services (ecommerce, Multi Access Edge Compute (MEC), AI, IoT, Cloud and distributed compute etc.).

SEMICONDUCTORS USING ADVANCED MATERIALS

This is a state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to the design, fabrication, and analysis of next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices. Equipped with advanced tools such as RF sputtering, metallization units, solar simulators, device characterization systems, and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), the lab supports cutting-edge research in semiconductor and materials science.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is integrated into the work-life culture at NIST University. AI has been extensively used now at the University from content creation, AI chatbots, translation service, advertising, and marketing to social media branding. NIST University has private cloud infrastructure, hardware, and software tools in support of state-of-the-art laboratories for research and innovation in AI and ML.

BIOTECHNOLOGY WITH A FOCUS ON MARINE BIOTECH

The Biotechnology Global Innovation Center (GIC) has a special focus on Marine Biotechnology to leverage the marine biodiversity of 414 km of Odisha coastal belt. In addition to state of art laboratories in Molecular Biotechnology, the Biotechnology GIC is expected to leverage diverse resources and expertise of various labs, research, and innovation at NIST University (e.g., Bio-Informatics, Sensor Technology, IoT, AI in the medical vertical).

AR/VR Multimedia Lab

Multimedia Lab specializes in 3D modeling, environment creation, animation, game development, AR, VR, Photoshop, and video editing, bringing creativity and technology together. We design detailed 3D assets and immersive environments for games, animations, and simulations. Our animation and video editing expertise helps create compelling visual narratives. Using Unreal Engine and Unity, we develop interactive games with engaging mechanics. In AR and VR, we craft immersive experiences for education, training, and entertainment. Additionally, we utilize Photoshop for graphic design and concept art. With innovation at our core, we strive to deliver high-quality digital content across various platforms.

AI/ML & Data Analytics Lab

The Data Analytics Lab at NIST University is a hub for innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. NISTians do freak out! Sports and entertainment are an integral part of life at NIST, complementing academics to ensure students’ holistic growth. The institute places strong emphasis on sports, cultural activities, and extra-curricular engagement, providing ample opportunities for talent to shine. Regular inter-college competitions, cultural festivals, and technical events keep the campus vibrant and dynamic. The annual inter-college sports event “Kurukshetra” is a much-awaited highlight, bringing together teams from various institutions to compete in a spirit of energy and sportsmanship. Another flagship attraction is the two-day All-India event “SANKALP”, hosted annually by the NIST-ISTE chapter, featuring more than 25 technical and cultural programs that draw enthusiastic participation from across the country.

 
 

INDOOR STADIUM

Education is not merely imparting knowledge; it is inculcating values and discipline and it builds youth into strong men and women of tomorrow. Hence a few years ago the college had built an indoor stadium where there was provision for Tennis, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Volley Ball, besides indoor games like Chess and Carom. It also has an independent GYM.

CRICKET GROUND

NIST has good cricket grounds to conduct tournaments. Every year there is an inter college cricket tournament which is held between the students of NIST as well as there is a separate one staff and the faculty and a huge participation is there from students and faculty from all over the state as well as country.

BASKET BALL COURT

The huge basketball court, one of pride possessions of our sports club, holds contests every year between students of different colleges across Odisha and india. There are separate tournaments for boys and girls.

 
 

VOLLEY BALL COURT

The volley ball court at NIST is a huge boost to the sports culture among NISTIANs and not just for the students but for the faculty and staff members too. The team sport increases the team spirit and helps the students learn discipline. Every year the best of ODISHA participate with hundreds of spectators cheering for their own team.

LAWN TENNIS COURT

NIST has a huge 38.5x74.5 mts lawn tennis court, with a sitting arrangements for 100 people, where the best people participate. It occupies a special place in the heart of every sports lover.

BADMINTON COURT

The badminton court is situated inside the indoor stadium where there are sitting arrangements for around 50 people. There are separate timings for faculty and students who can go and practice to keep themselves fit and at the same time can play at a professional level.

 
 

SWIMMING POOL

NIST boasts of a semi Olympic size swimming pool to groom the students to keep themselves fit. There is separate trainer for boys and girls who trains the students and as swimming is one of the best exercises known it helps them to stay fit. One of the favorite events of NISTians is the swimming contest held every year during annual sports events.

SQUASH COURT

Onsite squash court at the college helps the occasional competitors to test their skills. Top players can go for inter college competitions but those who want to play for occasional fitness are also welcome.

WALL CLIMBING

NISTIANs do freak out and they do it in style. Though wall climbing is not a traditional sport but anyone who has a passion for adventure can test their adrenaline with this sport and you do not need to move to distant location or travel somewhere to do that, it can be done right here at NIST but with all the safety measures

Wind surfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and powered by wind on a sail.
The nist wind surfing team enjoys the water sport occasionally.

PARAGLIDING

One of the best adventure sports known and the students over here are no stranger to this sport. With all the safety measures it is carried out successfully every year with a huge number of onlookers waiting for their turn.

RIVER RAFTING

It's one of the best recreational outdoor activities the NISTIANs go for every year.

HILL BIKING

Conquer the hill with a bike is the moto of the hill biking team who chill out every year with this adventure sport amidst their tight academic schedule.
