DST Sponsored Inspire Science Camp
National Institute of Science and Technology has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the INSPIRE SCIENCE CAMP from 27th - 31stJanuary 2014 by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India. The Science Camp is held to motivate and inspire the talented student to take up Science and Research as a career. The Science Camps will be addressed by top scientists of India including Bhatnagar Awardees and global icons of Science including Nobel laureates. The students will also be exposed to hands-on experience in advanced laboratories.
For attending INSPIRE Science Camp, student need not pay any amount either to the school or to the organizer (NIST). Expenditures towards travel (to and from), accommodation, food etc., for all students attending science camps will be taken care of by DST-INSPIRE program through NIST. The camp is totally free of cost for the student. As the host Institute, we shall take all care of the students including travel, accommodation, fooding, security, miscellaneous expenses, etc.Department of Science and Technology (DST)
Department of Science and Technology which was established on 3rd May 1971, has played a catalytic role in the promotion of reasearch and development in science and technology and has served the function of a nodal department organizing, coordinating and promoting S&T activities in the country.
The Dept. of Science and Tech., Govt. of India, launched the INSPIRE Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research - Programme in December 2008. INSPIRE is one of the innovative programs developed by the Department of Science & Technology. The basic objective of 'INSPIRE' would be to attract talent to the study of science at an early stage and help to build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R&D base.
