M.TECH. PROGRAM

A Master of Technology (M.Tech) is an academic degree conferred after completion of a two-year program of studies at an accredited university or institution. In India, this degree is regulated under University Grants Commission of India (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Admission to M.Tech courses is usually through a nation-wide (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by IITs) and state-managed tests such as OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination) in the state of Odisha.

The M.Tech programs in India is almost an Applied Engineering Research degree comparable to M.Phil and M.Sc. M.Tech is the ladder to be a Research Engineers or Technologist in the Industries and Research Centres.

NIST started offering M.Tech programs since 2003. Ever since NIST has been reveling in a culture of learning by doing. Offered in six disciplines, the courses focus on analytical rigor, imagination and problem solving skill of highest order. The institution teaches how to tackle global challenges in the most precise scientific way. Known as the best engineering college for M.Tech courses in Odisha, NIST has pioneered teaching and learning in the campus and across the globe through its academic-industry liaisons and various research projects.
