Arizona State University Prof. Chitta Baral Speaks on AI and AINLP

Technology is developing so fast that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming more and more intelligent. Tesla cars that use autopilot, Siri, the iPhone voice assistant, Google Clips, the webcams that automatically take photos and short videos, are some good examples of how artificial intelligence is changing our lives. To cope up with that and to stay relevant in the job market in our times, engineering graduates must be well-versed with AI. That's why NIST organized a seminar series ""Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing." Prof. Chitta Baral of Arizona State University gave an overview of the topic in the 1st seminar of the series on 8th June 2019. Prof. Baral, an authority in the topic, highlighted the role of Natural Language Processing in AI. He assured to be a part of every seminar in the series that is supposed to bring together NIST faculty and researchers of diverse backgrounds with an interest in Natural Language Processing, and encourage research in the faculty and strengthen NIST's position as a leader in AI in the region. Prof. Baral also emphasized enhancing reading comprehension especially among children because that will bring much difference to reason AI and the allied topics.
