The Mission                            

School of Business Administration (SBA) is the youngest offshoot of the National Institute of Science & Technology (NIST), Berhampur, Orissa.  It was founded in 2006 inside the NIST Campus. The school focuses on developing managerial competence among the students through acquisition of specialized knowledge and skills. In addition, the school emphasizes the importance of developing a sense of social justice with right attitudes and values of discipline, dedication and commitment among all its members.

The School of Business Administration (SBA) Campus

   The school has a spacious campus, located inside NIST, Berhampur.  The facilities available on the campus       include:

Programme and Recognition

     Two year, regular full time campus based Post Graduate programme in management, i.e., Master of Business Administration (MBA) is recognized by:

                 (i) All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

                  Affiliated to: (ii)  Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa.

Eligibility

      Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University or Institution. 

Admission Process

      Through Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (O-JEE) and All India Management Aptitudes Test (MAT).

Academic Programme

      The Academic Programme consists of six 10-12 weeks terms (Trimesters) spread over two years with a Summer Project after the first year as per University syllabus.

Curricula

   The curriculum for the Management Programme is designed to impart knowledge, develop specialized skills and foster essential attitudes for the students to grow as competent and responsible managers.  It emphasizes the conceptual and analytical reasoning and gives the students insight into the business world and its          environment.  Importance is given to self-learning, creativity and continuous interaction with the faculty,    students and practitioners.

Electives

        University offers MBA degree in general Management.   Specialization in Finance, HR, Systems, Marketing,         etc., is done by selection of specialized electives in the second year.

Foreign Language

     Japanese Language is “must learn” for every student.

Faculty Profile

            Three types of faculty contribute to enrich the Quality of the core courses and electives offered to the             students.  These are:

      (i)               Full Time Faculty

           School has professionally qualified and experienced permanent faculty drawn from various streams of Management discipline.

      (ii)             External Faculty

            Experienced faculty from different Universities like Berhampur University, Utkal University, and premier Institutes such as Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Vellore Institute of Technology, etc., come to take regular classes.

      (iii)          Visiting Faculty

           The school also draws on expert guest faculty comprising of specialists from Business Enterprises, Government Organisations, Research Institutions and IIMs.
