About Workshop 

            The Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, has been promoting research in frontier and emerging areas through the Science & Engineering Research Council (SERC). SERC has endeavored to strengthen the research capabilities of relatively small and less-endowed Universities/Departments to raise their research activities beyond the critical level. This workshop aims at educating the researchers of Orissa, specially from the Engineering institutions about the different schemes available with SERC for pursuing research. Eminent Scientists and Researchers will present and interact with participants regarding research proposal writing, thrust areas of funding, presentations before the expert panel etc.

            There will also be a session on Industry Institute interaction in R&D. Eminent experts from Industry, involved in R&D activities will throw light on the opportunities available for the academicians to start an interaction program with the industry. Funding schemes available for this kind of collaborative work will also be a part of the discussion.

        1.30  - 2.30    : Presentation by few selected Engineering Institutions regarding

                                their R&D plan for next three years   

        2.30  - 3.30    : Presentations by industry experts regarding Industry Institution

                                interaction in R&D.

        3.30  - 3.45    : Tea Break

        3.45  - 4.15     : Interaction with Head, SERC

        4.15  - 4.30     : Valedictory
