Campus Construction & Landscaping

The beautiful NIST campus on 35 acres of land at the foothills of Palur Hills has been made possible by the heroic work of our construction staff and gardeners. A five floor building called the Lecture Hall complex of over 60,000 sq.ft., with all modern amenities is currently being used for our classrooms, labs., etc. The Institute Cafeteria, Computer Center, Student Activities Center, Internet Room and Library are being used in the OCTAGON building which provides over 40,000 sq.ft of space. In addition the Generator Room, Transport Office, Gymnasium, Facilities Center are located on the campus. The work on the new Lecture Hall Complex Annex is in progress. Subsequently the work on the administrative building, indoor stadium and hostels will be taken up. Experts have done the landscaping with over 2000 trees belonging to a variety of species being planted on the campus. The greening of the campus is being undertaken on a large scale this year. Interesting spots on the campus are the Rock Garden, Fruit Garden, Rose Garden, Forest Park, Green House Nursery and the Kitchen Garden.
