B.TECH. PROGRAM

A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is an academic degree conferred after completion of a four-year program of studies at an accredited university or institution. In India, this degree is regulated under three major bodies: University Grants Commission of India (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Admission to B.Tech courses is usually through a nation-wide engineering entrance examination. It is the most popular and highly valued skill-oriented course in India and abroad.

B.Tech should not be confused with B.E. Though both the degrees sound similar, B.Tech is more practical oriented while B.E. is more theoretical. Precisely, as the name says, the difference is that of Engineering Vs. Technology.

NIST started offering B.E. programs in 1996. Later, under BPUT, B.Tech became the pilot program of NIST, and has retained its leadership as the best engineering college for B.Tech courses in Odisha ever since. It has helped thousands of students take a big leap in engineering careers through its B.Tech courses. Taught by alumni of IITs, IISc, NIT, ISI and the likes, a B.Tech course at NIST is a gateway to the world of opportunities. Teaching of B.Tech at NIST combines bits from online learning, hands-on activities and research-lead teaching by veteran faculty. Here, every B.Tech student gains crucial and timely knowledge in his/her specialized fields. Throughout its existence, the institute has been actively promoting industry-department engagements by finding common grounds and taking part in various research projects.
