About the Syllabus

The syllabus has been framed by an expert committee appointed by Berhampur University. Technical inputs in this process came from many well-known professors of US universities and the IITs. The syllabus prescribed at NIST is at par with many of the best international universities. The courses have been designed keeping the following objectives in mind:

Considering the industry demand for Computers and Information Science the
following software courses have been included in the syllabus of each of the
five branches of Engineering.

Several important courses in Electronics Engineering have also been included for
all branches.

The course on "Technical Communication" offered in the first semester is
another unique feature of the syllabus. This course has been designed by experts
from the English Language Training Institute, Bhubaneswar, one of the premier
anguage institutes of India. This unique course specifically addresses the
communication skills related to the speaking, listening and writing of English
in the technical context.
