ELE 401 ELECTRICAL MEASURMENTS
Control and damping of indicating type instruments in general, Ammeter & voltmeter permanent magnet moving coil type, moving iron type, electrodynamics type, their scale shape, wattmeter, electrodynamics type, induction type, single phase and three phase.
Energy meter: Induction type, A.C. single phase and three-phase energy meter, testing of AC energy meter.
Galvanometers: Construction and performance equation of vibration, ballistic galvemeter.
Frequency meter: Vibrating reed types, electrical resonate type, power factor meters, and dynamometer type.
Potentiometer: DC and AC (Polar and rectangular coordinate) type standardization and application.
AC Bridge: Schering, Anderson bridge, maxwells bridge, error, magnetic and electromagnetic shielding, Wangers earthing devices.
Measurement of Resistance: High resistance by Megger low resistance by Kelvins double bridge.
Electronic Voltmeter: VIVM peak reading triode type, Transistors voltmeters with cascaded transistors.
Transducer and Signal Conditioning: Displacement transducers, the L.V.D.T. variable reluctance, variable capacitance type, Op-Amp configuration for measurement, strain gauge, gauss factor, strain gauge bridge circuit, methods of balancing, Piezoelectric and servotype accelerator. Bridge amplifier using Op-Amp. Temperature Measurement, resistance thermometer, thermocouples, thermisters, effects of referance junction, compensation thermocouple indicator and thermocouple amplifier.
