ECE- 501 ADVANCED MICROPROCESSOR
General Purpose Programmable Peripheral Devices: The 8255A programmable peripheral interface, the 8155 and 8355 multipurpose programmable device. The 8279 programmbale keyboard/display interface. The 8253 programmable interval timer. The 8257 DMA controller. The 8259 programmable interrupt controller. The 8251 USART interface. Digital to analog (D/A) converter and Analog to Digital (A/D) converter interfacing with microprocessor.
Microcomputer Interfacing: Interface types, common microcomputer I/O methods, programming parallel interface adapter, Data communications buses, Serial data communication standards, Network communication protocol.
Microprocessor based data acquisition system: Transducers, Instrumentation amplifiers, data acquisition system, converter specification, development of an 8 channel DAS.
Software development system and assembler: Microprocessor based development systems and assemblers, assemblers writing programs using as assembler.
Microcomputer Application: Designing a microcomputer system based on 8085 processor, basic concepts. Temperature control system. Stepper motor control, Simple PID controllers, CRT interfacing study of closed loop speed control of a D.C. machine.
