ECE-302 ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS

1. Compound Configurations: Introduction, Cascade Connection, Cascode Connection, Darlington Connection, Feedback Pair, CMOS Circuit, Current Source Circuits, Current Mirror Circuits, Differential Amplifier Circuit.

2. Other Two-Terminal Devices: Introduction, Schottky, Barrier Diodes, Varactor Diodes, Power Diodes, Tunnel Diodes, Photo Diodes, Photo Conductive Cells, Solar Cells, Thermistors.

3. Differential and Cascade Amplifier: Introduction, Differential Amplifier, Differential Amplifier Ckt Configuration, Dual input, Balanced O/P, Dual I/P Unbalanced O/P, Single I/P, Balanced O/P, Single I/P - Unbalanced O/P, Differential Amplifier, FET differential amplifier, Differential amplifier with swamping resistors, Constant current bias, current mirror.

4. Operational Amplifiers used in Oscillators: Use of Op-amp as sine wave oscillator ( Phase shift, Wein Bridge, Quadrature ), Op-amp for square, triangular, saw tooth and voltage controlled oscillators.

5. Filters: Introduction to filters, Active filters, Low pass, High Pass, Band pass, Band reject and all pass filters. Design of Butterworth and Tchebysheve filter of 1st, 2nd and higher orders, Introduction and characteristics of Elliptic and Bessel filters, Frequency transformation and transformation of low pass to (I) high pass (ii) band pass (iii) band reject filters.

6. Comparators and converters: Introduction, Basic Comparator, Zero Crossing Detector, Schmitt trigger, Limitations of OP-AMP as comparators, Voltage limiters, Window Detector, Window Comparator, Clipper, Clamper, Peak Detector, Absolute value detector, V/F and F/V converter, Logarithmic Amplifiers.

7. Specialized IC applications: IC 555 Timer, PLL, Voltage Regulators, 3 terminal voltage regulators.
