The computer laboratories are fully equipped with Pentium, Linux, Unix and Windows workstations, which are connected on the campus LAN. The computer center has multimedia workstations, LINUX/UNIX/SunOS/WindowsNT servers, Internet Web Servers, Data/Mail servers, VSAT, modems, laser printers, scanners, digital and web cameras, etc. All the computer laboratories are connected to a campus wide network based on fiber optic cable. This network is also used for all administrative, accounting and academic purposes. Each and every student has a userid allowing him or her to communicate with faculty, staff and other students. Students can download course material, give online tests, email and use other facilities of NIST intranet. Internet facility is provided through a 64kbps VSAT. The campus network will soon be available on a wide area network encompassing our other facilities in the city including our software development center, hostels, student and faculty housing. A state-of-the art centrally air-conditioned computer center has been recently added in our newest facility, the OCTAGON. All hostels are also provided with computer facilities with Internet access.
Latest versions of software such as Compilers, Word-processors, Spreadsheets, Relational Databases, Graphics, CAD, Mathematical Tools, Electronic CAD, Analog & Digital Simulators, PCB Design, FPGA, VLSI Design Tools, SCADA, Virtual Instrumentation, Multimedia Toolkits, Web Software, CD based Encyclopedia, CBTs, etc., are available. Faculty, system analysts, programmers, laboratory supervisors oversee the activities of the computer laboratories.

English Language Laboratories
The English Language Laboratory is equipped with advanced audio-visual equipment for improving English Language communication and presentation skill. This laboratory is fully utilized by the students preparing for GRE and TOEFL examination.
