The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India sponsored INSPIRE Science Internship Programme is successfully inaugurated by Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University, Prof. Ashok Kumar Das and Dr Debiprasad Duari, Director of MP Birla Institute of Fundamental Research, Kolkata in the presence of Prof. Sangram Mudali, Director, NIST on 6th October 2015 at NIST Auditorium. About 300 students who are the top 1% +2 Science students of the State of Odisha, based on their Class 10th marks, are attending the programme.“One question is better than a million answers," emphasised Dr Duari, the Guest of Honour of the function, while addressing the inaugural function. He added saying how the very programme is going to help build the crucial human resources in the future and motivate students to take up science as a career. The Chief Guest, Dr Ashok K Das reiterated the importance of questioning and highlighted the essence of making the complexity of science and technology simple so that the same can be used by commoners. Prof. Mudali welcomed all the guests, teachers and students from different parts of the state and stressed upon the wholesome development of the young minds. He urged that all the students should follow their passion and achieve something great in their lives. He even invited the schools and colleges for academic or research collaborations with NIST.
